Thanks Mrs Gupta for showing us how to create animations in class today - and thanks to Selu for letting me borrow her Google Draw character to tell a short story... Collaborating and learning new skills is AWESOME!!!

Creating: Illustrations for a 'Big Book'
WALHT create illustrations for a narrative story. The Year 5-6 students working on their SC's - acrylic painting technique, colour selection and composition. |
Looking Good! The image ideas the students came up with are already meeting the SC's, and Anita's smile shows how much they enjoyed watching their 'compositions' come to life! |

Creating: Collaborative Narrative Writing Online (Holiday Project)
Here's an example that Dakota and Ms Osborne have started collaborating on together for this holidays... Dakota created the character and Ms Osborne has made a setting. What do you think we could add to our story? Add your narrative ideas to the comments below, and we'll take all positive feedback on board for our story board ideas! :-) |
This is our writing homework for the school holidays... You can view it in more detail on our class website - feel free to join in and share your narrative ideas and suggestions, too! (Add these via the comments section below...) |

Learning: Our Wanderings About the Amazon Rain Forest in Brazil
This week, we had a KWL discussion about some of the non-human creatures we might find in the tropical rain forest around the 2016 Olympics city of Rio, Brazil...
Here is some of what we already know:
“It is in South America, in the same country as Rio, Brazil. There are anacondas - a huge snake - and piranhas in it. There are crocodiles, and poison frogs - they are blue and orange and red.” ~ Travis
“The proper name for a jungle is a rain forest.” ~ Sharlotte
“There is a type of big cat called a jaguar that lives in the Amazon.” ~ Aaliyah
“There is another cat called a puma that lives in South America.” `~ Ngatokoa
We look forward to sharing our independent research Google Slide efforts with you on our individual blogs later this term! :-)
